More about Ed…
Ed is a life-long, year-round resident of Mantoloking.
He graduated from St. George’s School in 1993 and from Kenyon College with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 1997. While still a student at Kenyon, Ed founded his consulting company, Osprey Technology Consulting. His continuing involvement with his consulting clients complements his experience as a realtor in the Bay Head area.
After two successful years in the Bay Head and Mantoloking real estate market, Ed joined Diane Turton, Realtors in August 2003, and in 2004, formed a very successful partnership with Suzie Van Schoick. Their success as a team continues to this day.
When not working, Ed is an avid sailor, skier, and fisherman, vacationing in Florida and Vermont. He is also an active member of Mantoloking Yacht Club. He is also and active volunteer and board member of Save Barnegat Bay (NJ), a volunteer for the Mt. Washington Observatory (NH), and a member of the Mantoloking Environmental Commission. Ed is also a Rotarian, and a member of the Point Pleasant Beach Rotary.
Ed offers outstanding knowledge of the area and a commitment to service of the highest caliber. He puts his local knowledge and connections to work for every client.
In 2014, Ed earned his e-PRO and Resort and Second-Home Property Specialist (RSPS) certifications in order to better serve their clients with the latest information and technology. In 2016, Ed received is Seller Representation Specialist (SRS) designation, in order to better counsel and represent their seller clients.
Osprey Technology Consulting got its informal start in 1993. While a student at Kenyon College, founder Edwin O’Malley provided technical support and web design services to the students, faculty, and administration as well as the surrounding community.
We are now based in Ed’s hometown of Mantoloking, New Jersey, and primarily serve Ocean and Monmouth counties. We also have website design clients throughout the United States.
In November 1999, Edwin joined with Jan O’Malley to form Osprey Technology Consulting LLC and expanded our service offerings. Our clients now include large and small companies, not-for-profit organizations, municipalities, and many families and individuals.
Jan has over twenty years experience in software, hardware and network architecture, software development, and quality assurance. In addition, she has comprehensive software engineering experience including Service Oriented Architectures and web services in load balanced, clustered and distributed n-tier architectures.
Ed O’Malley is a nature photographer who lives on the coast of New Jersey, specifically along the shore of Barnegat Bay. He can often be found sailing, fishing, diving, or kayaking – these and other outdoor activities often provide the opportunity and inspiration for his photographs.
In addition to his on-the-water pursuits, Ed has always enjoyed stormy weather, and in particular, the winter season – the more snow, the better. In the fall of 2007, this led to Ed’s affiliation with Mount Washington Observatory as a summit volunteer. Since then, this has provided many unique photographic opportunities on the summit of Mount Washington. Coastal storms also provide Ed with many opportunities for one-of-a-kind photographs.
Ed currently works as a technology consultant and realtor, but when the opportunity presents itself, he can often be found along the coasts of New Jersey, the Florida Keys, and New England, frequently on or in the water.
Ed shoots primarily with a Nikon digital SLR camera, but because of the harsh saltwater environments that he frequents, he finds that it is often prudent to resort to using a smaller waterproof digital camera.
